Dr Devanand is a senior consultant physician at the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at the Singapore General Hospital; and is the deputy head of the Singhealth Duke-NUS Lung Centre. He was trained in Interventional Pulmonology and Clinical Ethics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and Thoraxklink, University of Heidelberg. Devanand is the vice chair of the National Medical Ethics Committee at the Ministry of Health and deputy director of the Centre of Medical Ethics and Professionalism. He serves as a council member of the Singapore Medical Association and the Medico-Legal Society of Singapore. He is also the associate program director of the Singhealth Internal Medicine Residency.
